How do I know when making an order how much time is necessary to clean my home?

When ordering, you tell us how big your home is and based on the calculator created by our cleaning professionals we can recommend the cleaning time necessary for your home. The calculator helps you when choosing a cleaning time.

Because of the fact that all homes are different, we recommend to begin the cleanings with the time that our calculator gives to you. If the cleaning takes less time than expected, we’ll refund the unused time and shorten the scheduled cleaning time. The cleaning time is easier to shorten than lengthen!

Do I need to clean before the cleaner comes?

Of course not! We’re here for you to enjoy the things you enjoy and we take care of the cleaning. You can tell instructions to your cleanings for example, where the kids’ toys belong, so you’ll find the from the right places.

Do the cleaners bring their own cleaning equipment?

Accepted Answer

We always use the vacuum cleaner, the mop and the bucket found in your home. For cleaning supplies and equipment, we gladly bring Freska’s own eco-friendly supplies to make sure you’re happy with the cleaning result. The Freska supplies are included in the service fee 9,90 €.

What language do the cleaners speak?

The main language of our cleaners when working is English, and we don’t require our employees to speak Finnish (Note! Our customer service always communicates at least in Finnish and in English). However, sometimes it’s not possible to find a common language between the cleaner and the customer, so communication can be somewhat challenging.🤔 There’s no reason to worry! If you are considering a possible language barrier, you can contact our customer service via chat, phone or e-mail at our website or in the Freska app.

We want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to work at Freska, whether they speak Finnish or not 👍

Is the cleaner different every time?

No way! In regular cleaning, we always offer you the same wonderful cleaner who knows your wishes. Unfortunately, we can not guarantee the same cleaner every time for occasional cleaning. If you first ordered occasional cleaning, liked our cleaner and would like to order regular cleaning: please, contact our customer service by email info@freska.fi or you can send us a message in the chat and we will do our best to arrange it! If you like to continue with occasional cleanings every now and then, you can still contact us and ask for the same cleaner you’ve had.

What should I do when the cleaner arrives at my house?

We recommend that you, along with a cleaner, go through the special features of your home during the first cleaning session so that he or she can take them into consideration when working. Don’t worry, our cleaners are professionals in their field and are also able to ask the things they need to know.

Question 13

Can I be at home during cleaning?

Accepted Answer

Of course you can! However, we recommend that you give your cleaner peace to work and spend the time you save with your hobbies, for example. In other words, you can be at home or spend time elsewhere. It’s your decision!

Can my dog or cat be home during cleaning?

Accepted Answer

We love cats and dogs! :) Of course, but it is the customer’s duty is to make sure that the cleaner has peace to carry out the work. In addition, the pets are always customer’s responsibility.

Question 15

Can I provide a spare key to the cleaner?

Accepted Answer

If you want, you can deliver a spare key to us so that your cleaner can get into your home when you are not there to open the door. Please bring your key to our office no later than 5 days before cleaning, so that we have enough time to deliver the key to the cleaner as well.

You can also agree to hand over the spare key directly to the cleaner using the key receipt form from the cleaner. After handing over the keys the accountability of the key moves to Freska.

Does Freska provide window cleanings?

Yes, You can order a window cleaning from us! Our window cleaning costs 75 €/h (after tax deduction 48,75 €/h) and the price includes window cleaning equipment. You can calculate the time needed and price of the service based on the amount of windows in our easy window cleaning calculator!

Does Freska provide moving cleanings?

You bet! Freska’s reliable Superhero cleaners are specifically trained to perform top notch moving cleanings. Moving cleaning price is 65 €/h. After tax deduction the price is 42,25 €/h. Do you have a lock-in period?

No, we don’t. You can cancel your next home cleaning not later than 7 days before it, reschedule not later than 7 days before and pause or end your cleaning subscription whenever you want by contacting our customer service.

Question 19

What if I have to cancel or reschedule my booking?

Accepted Answer

When the cancellation is made later than 7 days (168 hours) before the scheduled cleaning, a charge is made in the form of a late cancellation fee, because of course we also pay our staff in cases like these. You can also reschedule not later than 7 days (168 hours) before.

You can cancel or reschedule the booking easily in the app by clicking the booking open. You will find canceling and rescheduling options in the “… More” menu.

Question 20

I want to add something to my cleaning, how do I do it?

If you want us to focus on something specific at a single cleaning occasion, you can enter this in the cleaning instructions of your upcoming booking in the Freska app on the upcoming booking

If you want to add something to the booking that takes more time than your regular cleaning time, please contact our customer service and we will arrange it

If you want to book moving cleaning or window cleaning, the easiest way to do it is from the Freska application by clicking the + button in the lower right corner and selecting the desired additional service. You can also contact our customer service to book extra services.

Question 21

I won’t be home to open the door when my cleaner arrives, how can they get in?

Accepted Answer

If you have a spare key, you can leave it for example with a neighbor or hide it somewhere, then write instructions about this in your booking so that the cleaner will know where to find your key.

Can I change cleaners?

Accepted Answer

Of course you can. If you want to change the cleaner for some reason, please contact customer service.

Can I change the frequency of my cleaning?

Accepted Answer

Of course! We offer regular cleaning on a weekly, bi-weekly or every fourth week frequency. To either reduce or increase your cleaning frequency, please contact our customer service.

Can I change my regular cleaning time or day?

Accepted Answer

Sure! We always aim to find you the most suitable time to have your regular cleaning. For single occasions, you can easily reschedule your bookings in the Freska app. You will find available times from your regular cleaner and from other cleaners.

If you need to change the weekday or time of your regular subscriptions we are more than happy to help, so please reach out to our customer service.

Question 25

Can I pause my subscription?

Accepted Answer

It is possible to pause a subscription for two months. Then you can keep the same scheduled cleaning time and the cleaner after the break. If you feel like taking a longer break, you need to end your subscription which is super easy. Also the subscription is possible to start again easily!

If you choose to unsubscribe and restart your subscription, we can unfortunately not guarantee the same cleaning day, time of day or cleaner - but we always do our best to fulfill your wish!

What if I want to cancel my subscription?

Each customer is very important to us, so we would love to hear if there’s anything we can do to make our service work better for you. For this reason, please call our customer service when you want to cancel your subscription. We are available by phone on weekdays from 8-11 am.

Question 27

How do I enable automatic reporting for the tax credit for household expenses?

Accepted Answer

You can easily enable automatic reporting for the tax credit for household expenses in the Freska app.

After logging into the Freska app, select Profile and Tax Credit. Follow the app’s instructions to activate automatic reporting.

When activating, you can choose whether Freska reports tax credit-eligible purchases starting from the beginning of the current year or from your next cleaning onward.

Please note that automatic reporting for the tax credit is only available for cleanings paid by card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay), MobilePay, Klarna, or gift card. Information about cleanings paid via Freska’s own invoice is currently not automatically transferred to the tax authorities.

Always double-check the reported tax credit-eligible purchases in your pre-completed tax return.

Question 28

When does Freska report information for the tax credit for household expenses to the tax authorities?

Accepted Answer

Once you have activated automatic reporting for the tax credit for household expenses in the Freska app, we will report the details of completed cleanings to the tax authorities immediately after each cleaning is completed.

If you selected during activation that Freska should report all purchases from the beginning of the current year, the information will be updated in OmaVero (MyTax) within a few minutes after activation.

You can view all the reports automatically submitted by Freska by logging into OmaVero. This allows you to take advantage of the tax credit during the tax year, as the reported amounts can be considered when ordering a new tax card.

Question 29

Which payment methods can I use to pay for cleaning?

Accepted Answer

The payment method provider Klarna accepts all the most common payment cards, so you can set the payment as direct debit. Klarna also offers a “Buy now, pay later” option, allowing you to pay for cleaning afterwards. You can also pay directly with our bank or credit card.

When is regular cleaning charged?

Accepted Answer

Regular cleaning is charged seven days before the cleaning date. If you are paying with Klarna, the cleaning will be ordered five days before the cleaning, and charged immediately after your cleaning. The order confirmation will be sent to your email after the booking has been charged or ordered.

You can cancel a single cleaning at any time up to seven full days before the cleaning. In that case, you can cancel the cleaning on your Freska-app or by contacting our customer service. Please note that if  the cancellation is made less than seven full days before the cleaning, the charge will not be refunded.

Why do I pay for cleaning when ordering the service?

Accepted Answer

Whether you choose to pay immediately or take advantage of the pay later option, you can be confident that the cleaning will be done as agreed. You will still have the chance to accept the cleaning after the work is completed, and we give you a full happiness guarantee.
If the cleaning is completed within a shorter period of time, we will refund you the unused amount of time.

How does Freska credit work?

Accepted Answer

As a Freska customer you and your friends can both earn 50 € if you share your referral code with them and they use the code when booking subscription cleaning! Your friend will get their 100 € divided into three cleanings: 20 € off from first, 15 € off from second and third cleaning. Your credit is applied automatically to your next cleaning when your friend has booked their first cleaning.

Question 33

Can I take advantage of the tax credit for household expenses?

All services are tax credit for household expenses-deductible! After tax deduction the hourly rate is reduced by 35% in 2025. For example, when ordering a subscription cleaning the hourly rate is only starting from 29,19 €/h. You can read more about tax credit for household expenses here.

Can I give my key to the cleaner?

Accepted Answer

If you want, you can deliver your home key to us so that your cleaner can get into your home when you are not there to open the door. Bring your keys to our office no later than 5 days before cleaning. In this case, we have enough time to deliver the key to the cleaner as well.

You can also agree to hand over the keys directly with the cleaner using the key receipt form from the cleaner. After handing over the keys the accountability of the key moves to Freska.

If you don’t have time to deliver the key to us 5 days before cleaning and you are not at home opening the door to the cleaner, please contact our customer service and we will arrange for the cleaner to enter your home.

What if I'm not happy with the cleaning?

We always offer you a satisfaction guarantee. We ask for your feedback on the cleaning immediately after it has been completed. If you are not satisfied with our cleaning, we will contact you quickly; together we will definitely find a good solution for the situation.

Question 36

What if something gets broken in my house?

Accepted Answer

All of our cleaners are covered by liability insurance, so we will reimburse you for the damage caused by our cleaners.

Do you have a duty of confidentiality?

Accepted Answer

All employees at Freska have signed a confidentiality agreement in connection with employment, which means that they may not disclose any information about our customers.

Question 38

Why can’t I see my bookings in the Freska app?

Accepted Answer

If you are already a Freska customer:

You might be logged in with a different email address from the one you made your bookings with.

You might have chosen to hide your email when signing in with Apple ID.

What to do?

Using the app, choose “I am already a customer” and link the email address that you used when making your booking. You can also request access to the account of your family member or a roommate.
